Despite his distance from the high seas, Warwick teacher turned author Andrew Britton has become Britain’s most prolific maritime writer.
Andrew received the news this week from publishers at Nielson Books and The Bookseller magazine.
His latest work, Southampton Docks, is due out next week.
In this Andrew looks back at Britain’s Premier Port.
He says: “This is a book I have always wanted to write as it has so much family history tied up in it.
“Southampton was the place to visit in order to watch the ocean liners notably the famous Cunard Queens, the SS United States, the P & O cruise liners and the constant procession of paddle steamers and tug boats.”
