Aspiring politicians battled it out over issues including HS2, student fees and the local plan during the latest election hustings at Kenilworth School.

Local and national issues were debated by five of the prospective Parliamentary candidates for Kenilworth and Southam.

Chaired by head teacher, Hayden Abbott, the Kenilworth event attracted around 160 people who put questions to the panel ahead of polling day on May 7.

Candidates also appeared at Southam College for a second debate where issues were once again dominated by HS2, student fees and the EU.

The debates were described as a success by organisers who hoped to get answers on big issues affecting the towns before votes are cast.
