Alternative triathlon competitor Eddie Whittle has so far raised £3,150 after paddling across Lake Windermere before hopping on his bike to cycle 315 miles to London, then competing in the London Marathon.
The Warwick Hospital worker will donate the cash to four charities: Macmillan Nurses, Meningitis NOW, Cardiac Risk in the Young and Prostate Cancer Uk.
Eddie still hopes to raise another hundred or so but he’s delighted with all the support he’s received from colleagues at the hospital.
One of the highlights of his efforts was cycling past the hospital to a cheering squad.
He was part of a four-man squad of friends including John McDonough, Jonathan Smith and Gareth Beard who ho between them have raised £9,375.
