Show and Tell at event in Warwick

Warwick town centre will transform into The Great Warwickshire Show and Tell today on Friday May 15.

More than 50 exhibition spaces will all be curated by people from in and around Warwick and will bring together the heritage and culture of Warwickshire.

Community groups and organisations will curate market-style stalls in the square displaying what defines them and telling the story of why their part of Warwickshire or their particular interest in the county is great.

Stalls will include Talking Birds street entertainers, the Heritage Motor Museum, Chedhams Yard, Foundry Wood, George Elliot Fellowship Trust and Escape Arts running art workshops.

There will be plenty for all ages to enjoy.

There will also be the chance to discover the history of Warwick with a tour from Warwick History Society and listen to storytelling sessions from Warwickshire Libraries.

To celebrate Museums at Night, Warwick Courts, cells and dungeon will also be open for tours during the event.

Tour tickets cost £5 each and must be booked in advance as spaces are limited.

Children must be over eight and accompanied by an adult.

Call 412501 to book.

Tour times will be at 3pm, 4.15 pm and 5.30pm.

The event starts at 2.30pm and finishes at 9m.

Last year’s event attracted thousands of people.

A range of organisations gave demonstrations, including Warwick Boat Club which brought a “1905 sculling boat fully manned by four upright Victorian sporting gentlemen” through to the “Glories of the Atherstone Ball Game.”
