Praise for Leamington martial arts instructor who has 'given structure' to pupils during lockdown

The mother of a young martial arts pupil has praised her son's instructor for helping him during lockdown

John Kelly, who runs the Wing Chun King Fu school in Leamington, has been holding classes on Zoom for children and adults over the past few months.

But since the slight relaxation of restrictions he has resumed live lessons in Jephson Gardens maintaining distance between the students.

Lucy Hinojosa, whose seven-year-old son is one of John's pupils, said: "It has been a very positive experience for John, the children and the parents.

I think with the absence of school it gives structure to children.

My son is part of four sports clubs and I feel John has been the most motivated and determined to change his structure and thinking in order to keep his students and club going.
