A new restaurant is set to open in Warwick

New signage has appeared on the former Ask Italian premises in High Street for London Burger Kitchen, also known as LBK.

The restaurant in High Street, was popular with many residents and was last open before the first lockdown in March 2020.

In July 2020 it was announced that the Azzuri group, which owns Ask Italian and Zizzi restaurants, would be closing 75 branches.

This came after the company was bought out of administration.

In September 2020 it was confirmed that the Warwick site will be one of the 75 restaurants not reopening.

Work is now taking place at the site to tranform the former italian restauran into LBK, which specialises in amercian style 'dirty' burgers.

The LBK company is owned by Joe and Natalie Taylor and currently there are two other restuarants - one in London and one in Coventry as well as plans to open more across the UK.

Joe said: "I think it will go down very well in Warwick.

"We bake all our bread fresh on site every morning and we get our meat from Aubrey Allen.

"It's burgers but with a big difference - every social media review we have is five stars - everyone loves what we do so we hope it will go well in Warwick."

Joe is hoping the LBK branch in Warwick will be open for delivery and takeaway in around four to six weeks.

He added: "In terms of opening as a restuarant we hope to be able to open and it depends on if the roadmap stays as it is."
