NEW UNIT OPENS AT ST MICHAEL'S HOSPITAL

A new psychotherapy unit has opened in St Michael's Hospital in a move which brings the treatment closer to other mental health services.

The new unit is called The Pines and has six rooms, providing individual and group psychotherapy treatments.

Dr Malcolm Pines, who has made significant contributions to psychoanalytic treatment research, officially opened the new centre recently.

Dr Chris Mace, head of the psychotherapy service, said: "Being nearer to the hospital should help us to work more closely with the other clinical teams based there, and make opportunities for training more accessible."
