A man has been charged after police closed down a huge cannabis factory in Leamington yesterday (Monday).

Officers executed a warrant at an address in Clemens Street and found of 529 plants inside - and the electricity meter had been bypassed.

As we reported yesterday, a man was arrested at the scene. Today (Tuesday) he has been charged and appeared at Coventry Magistrates Court where he was remanded into custody until April where he will next appear for trial.

A police spokesperson said: "Once again we hope that this sends a message to anyone thinking of entering into this sort of activity that we will not tolerate it and we will push for the strongest possible outcome."
