Leamington Comic Con will bring artists for the Batgirl and Star Wars comics to the town later this month.
The award-winning event will take place at the Spa Centre on Saturday March 25 where fans can meet the likes of Christian Wildgoose who is an artist on DC’s Batgirl, Marc Laming whose artwork has appeared in Marvel’s Star Wars: Force Awakens and John-Paul Bove who is best known for his work on Transformers for IDW, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles for Panini and Judge Dredd for 2000AD.
In addition, the event organisers are thrilled to be welcoming Sonia Leong, a multi-award winning Manga creator who has worked for TokyoPop, Self-Made Hero, Image Comics, Hachettes, VIZ Media and Titan Comics to name a few,
Dan Mallier, Creator of Leam Comic Con, said: “This year’s event is going to be the best yet. With two successful conventions under our belts and the awesome support of Leamington behind us, we’ve attracted some big comic book guests.”
Leam Comic Con is one of few comic conventions that has kept a focus on comic books rather than straying into TV and Film.
This focus has earned the event positive reviews within the industry and enabled it to provide a platform for talented local artists and creators to showcase their work alongside some of the mainstream.
“It’s important to us that we promote literacy and support local talent, said Dan. “We have Leamington Artist Chris Oxenbury - known locally as the emoji man - attending this year and a fantastic young artist Tom Malin from Evesham”
Once again the event will host a Cosplay Competition to find the best dressed adult (over 16) and child (16 and under).
