Professors, politicians, theologians and broadcasters have all been invited to speak in St Mary’s Church, Warwick, next month, during what promises to be a fascinating series of lectures.
All have been invited by the rector of Warwick, Rev Dr Vaughan Roberts, and will have a 6.30pm slot at the end of Choral Evensong.
On February 22, Professor David Sims, the former director of the Centre for Leadership, Learning and Change at the Cass Business School in London, will talk and then answer questions on the subject of leadership.
On March 1st it will be the turn of Professor Graham Ward, Regius Professor of Divinity at Oxford to discuss religious beliefs - or our lack of them. And on March 8 local MP Chris White will talk, inevitably, about politics.
Broadcaster and hymn writer John Bell will discuss The Bible on March 15 and the series will wind up on March 22 with the Very Rev Frances Ward, Dean of Bury St Edmunds Cathedral, talking about faith and posing the question: “Why Rousseau Was Wrong.”
Rev Roberts says all are welcome to attend.
