Casualty was trapped in car after crash in Southam

Fire crews were called to a crash involving one car in Southam yesterday (Sunday).

The incident, in which the car had overturned, happened on the Leamington Road at about 7.45am.

One person was physically and medically trapped in the vehicle.

A crew from Southam and another from Leamington attended the incident and used clan lucas cutting equipment and a glass stabilisation pack to free the casualty.

Police, ambulance and air ambulance staff attended.

The casualty was taken to hospital by the air ambulance team.
