Car on fire after crash with lorry on M40 near Warwick services


A car caught fire just before lunchtime today after a collision with a lorry on the southbound M40 between junction 13 Bishops Tachbrook and junction 12 Gaydon near to Warwick Services.

West Midlands Ambulance Service were called to the collision at 11.35am after a caller reported that a car was on fire after the crash.

A spokesman for the service said one patient was described as ‘walking wounded.’

One lane of the southbound M40 remains blocked at this time due to the severity of the fire, and long delays are expected.

Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service confirmed crews from Leamington and Stratford are in attendance.
