Two people have been rushed to hospital following a “serious collision” just south of Warwick.
Emergency services including the Air Ambulance, fire crews and police are currently at the scene just past the Greys Mallory roundabout on the A452.
The collision - described by police as serious - is thought to have involved two cars, one of which was forced off the road leaving a woman trapped inside. She was cut free by firefighters.
The woman, along with another casualty, was rushed to hospital but the extent of the injuries is not yet known.
Police are now warning drivers to avoid the area after road closures and a traffic build-up back onto the M40.
A Warwickshire Police spokesperson said: “The M40 junction 14 southbound exit sliproad is currently closed and traffic is building up in the area.
“We would advise motorists to consider alternative routes and we will update when more information is available.”
A spokesperson from Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “On arrival, fire fighters found one vehicle off roadway and one vehicle on the roadway.
“One female was trapped. The casualty was released by Warwickshire Fire Service and is now in the care of the Ambulance Service.”
