Gaydon museum celebrates British cars

The British Motor Museum in Gaydon is celebrating the British car this summer with a festival of family activities starting on Saturday July 23.

Workshops are running from Tuesday to Thursday each week throughout the summer holidays, with activities including building British cars with Lego, creating your own Land Rover, Mini or E type Jaguar from card and makingg a car out of balloons.

Visitors can also explore the Museum by becoming a reporter with the family newspaper trail and meet the costumed explainers who bring to life motoring from different decades.

New for this summer is the Family Festival, a family day of art and science activities on Sunday July 31. All themed around the great British car, there are plenty of workshops and drop-in activities to keep everyone entertained including Keep Calm and Carry on British Car Making, Balloon Modelling and Storytime with Veronica Lamond, the author of Landy. There is a chance to meet Mr Carter & Jim the bus driver, try drumming with car parts and make clay models with Aardman.
