Latest Covid figures for Leamington, Warwick and Kenilworth paint an encouraging picture

Every neighbourhood in the Warwick district is continuing to record very few cases of Covid-19.

Each ward is well below the national average and the district as a whole has the lowest rate in the county.

According to the latest figures, every area bar one has recorded 0-2 cases - the lowest classification - over a seven-day period, up to May 8.

The only ward not in this category is Bishops Tachbrook, Barford and Hatton Park which has seen only three cases.

In Warwickshire, the Rugby borough is the only area to have seen an increase (26.5% rise).

However, as we reported yesterday (Thursday), a small number of cases of the Indian variant have been detected in Nuneaton. Click here to read the story.

Here are the figures for each district in the county, covering a seven-day period up to May 8. Rolling rate is the rate of cases per 100,000 people.

Warwick

Total cases: 14

The rate has decreased relative to the previous week by 13 (-48.1%)

Rolling rate: 9.7 (below the national average)

Stratford-on-Avon

Total cases: 16

The rate has decreased relative to the previous week by 1 (-5.9%)

Rolling rate: 12.3 (below the national average)

North Warwickshire

Total cases: 13

The rate has not changed relative to the previous week

Rolling rate: 19.9 (above the national average)

Nuneaton and Bedworth

Total cases: 34

The rate has decreased relative to the previous week by 23 (-40.4%)

Rolling rate: 26.2 (above the national average)

Rugby

Total cases: 43

The rate has increased relative to the previous week by 9 (26.5%)

Rolling rate: 39.5 (above the national average)

Coventry

Total cases: 102

The rate has increased relative to the previous week by 11 (12.1%)

Rolling rate: 27.5 (above the national average)

Warwickshire

Total cases: 120

The rate has decreased relative to the previous week by 28 (-18.9%)
