RUGBY: OLs beat leaders but Newbold only draw
Old Laurentians beat league leaders Luton 26-21 away from home on Saturday. The Midlands 2 East (South) win lifts OLs up to fifth in a very tight table and drops Luton to fourth. Peterborough take over at the top on 26 points, ahead of Oadby Wyggestonians and Oundle both on 24. Luton and OLs both have 23 points.
Most teams have a break from league action this weekend and on November 19 at Fenley Field OLs host Market Harborough, who are ninth on 17 points.

Hide AdIn Midlands East 1, leaders Newbold, who had previously won all their games were held to a 31-31 draw at 12th placed Paviors. Newbold are still top with 42 points, with Old Northamptonians second on 36.
On November 19 at Parkfield Road Newbold host Bugbrooke, who are fourth.
Rugby Lions continued their unbeaten run, winning 31-29 at Silhillians. Lions have 33 points to top Midlands 2 West (South) ahead of second placed Spartans on 29 and Sils who have 27.
Lions return home to Webb Ellis Road for their next league game on November 19, when sixth-placed Southam are the visitors.

Hide AdRugby St Andrews had a free week in the league but play their re-arranged game at Woodrush this Saturday (12th). It was postponed last weekend after one of Woodrush’s veteran players sadly died after suffering a suspected heart attack in the curtain raiser game.
Saints are ninth in Midlands 3 West (South) and Woodrush tenth. On November 19 Saints are at home at John Tomalin Way to Upton on Severn, who are 11th.
Rugby Welsh were back in action at Birmingham Exiles, but went down 33-19. Welsh are fifth in Midlands 5 West (South) and Exiles third.
Welsh have a break from the league now until November 26, when they host sixth placed Trinity Guild at Alwyn Road.
