The stage is set for intrigue at the Belgrade Theatre in Coventry as Dial M For Murder takes to the venue this week.

The new production of Frederick Knott’s mystery, presented by theatre company Talking Scarlet, runs tonight (Thursday), tomorrow and Saturday.

Tony is convinced his wife is having an affair and prepares what he is convinced is the perfect murder – until it falters in the most unexpected way.

The thriller was first shown on the BBC in 1952, and was made into a film by Alfred Hitchcock two years later.

Playing the role of Tony Wendice is stage and television actor Oliver Mellor. Oliver is well known for his regular role as Dr Matt Carter in Coronation Street. He has also appeared in Father Brown, Midsomer Murders, Doctors, EastEnders, Emmerdale and Doctor Who, having also played lead roles in major theatre tours.

He will be joined on stage by Terri Dwyer in the role of Sheila Wendice. Best known for being one of the original cast members of Hollyoaks, Terri played the part of Ruth Osbourne for six very successful years in the hit Channel 4 soap. Since then, Terri’s television roles have included Law And Order UK and Holby City, and she played the regular role of Miss Adams in Grange Hill for two years.

Completing the cast are Brookside’s Marcus Hutton in the role of Max Halliday, Jolyon Young as Captain Lesgate and John Hester as Inspector Hubbard.

Tickets are priced from £12 to £27. Call 024 7655 3055 or visit www.belgrade.co.uk to book.
