Venue of the week: Cox's Yard, Stratford

Tribute acts and acoustic sets make up most of Cox's Yard music programme for August.

Icicle Works guitarist and singer Ian McNabb starts the month's shows at the Stratford venue tonight.

He will be followed by the hard 1980s rocking Guns N Roses tribute band Guns 2 Roses on Sunday.

Funky soul, blues and rock n roll will be provided by Duke Snr, Formerly Wired and Fushion on August 8.

Globetrotting Bon Jovi tribute act Bon Giovi will appear on August 9 as part of their current tour.

Acoustic vibes will resonate from the main pub during a night hosted by Matt Hernandez on August 14.

The sounds of ZZ Top and Jimi Hendrix will be played by Hamsters Hendrix and the ZZ Top Show on August 15.

Audiences can hear more acoustic music for free on August 16 when Jez Rogers, of Spitfire 5, Katie Dove-Dixon and Stone Foundation's Nikki Sandal take the stage.

Leamington chart-toppers Nizlopi will be supported by Lewis Garland and The Kett Rebellion on August 21.

Rock and blues acts the Larry Miller band and One More Night will play dance rock numbers and guitar solos.

Cover tracks will be played by The Fallen on August 23 followed by another Acoustic Yard session on August 28.

To end the programme Stratford Ska outfit Cueball 8 will appear on August 29 and then the Police tribute band Secret Police will wrap things up on August 30.
