Until Thursday July 14, Leamington Art Gallery & Museum: Mid Warwickshire Mencap 50 Year Anniversary exhibition. Mid Warwickshire Mencap are celebrating their 50 year anniversary since its founding as a charity in 1966. To mark this milestone, Leamington Spa Art Gallery & Museum are displaying an exhibition of how Mid Warwickshire Mencap has developed, from young mothers coming together to support their children with learning difficulties, to becoming an award winning local charity with significant achievement over the 50 years. Alongside the exhibition, The Way Ahead group, part of Mid Warwickshire Mencap, and learning and engagement officer Penelope Thomas will be running art workshops to create new work to be displayed in the Hammam. They will be using photographs they have taken around Leamington, and painting and collaging techniques, to create a mixed media sculpture. On Friday June 24, Derek Harvey, chief executive of Mid Warwickshire Mencap, will be giving a Friday Focus presentation about the history of the organisation and the work that they do. This is a free talk, no need to book.

Until Sunday July 3, St Gregory’s church, Offchurch: Visit Offchurch and see woolly creepy crawlies, fluffy flowers, terrific trees and hairy horses in a display of ‘yarn-bombing’. Warwickshire County Record Office, 3pm to 5pm: Stereo Photography in Warwickshire - from the 1850s to Today. The County Record Office’s over 600 Victorian, photographic stereo cards dating from the 1850s are being digitised and restored. Dr Bob Pryce will present short 3D audio visual shows of the restored images images alongside current stereoscopic views of these Warwickshire scenes. There will be a chance to view some of the collection through a Victorian stereoscope. Additionally, one or two recently completed 3D AV shows of Warwickshire butterfly and moth life cycles will be presented and (time permitting) a show relating to Coventry’s Cathedral Precinct. Leamington Art Gallery & Museum, 2pm to 4pm: Warwick District U3A knitting group The Woolpack will be giving knitting workshops. Throughout the sessions, the public will be invited to create knitted graffiti artwork for two of the Royal Pump Rooms columns. The columns will be ‘yarn bombed’ and camouflaged to celebrate Leamington Spa Art Gallery & Museum’s upcoming exhibition Concealment and Deception: The Art of the Camoufleurs of Leamington Spa in World War 2. Leamington Rugby Club, Moorefields, Kenilworth Road, Leamington, 2pm to 7pm: Leam-Jazz teams up with Kenilworth Jazz to stage the South Warwickshire Jazz Festival. It will feature five of non-stop live jazz starring two top vocal acts, Sheila Waterfield and Roy Forbes, two highly talented instrumental bands in the shape of Sam Quintana’s Wandering Monster and the Calvin Travers Trio and the opening act will be a tribute to the jazz-funk of the ‘70s and ‘80s brought to you by Funkster. Bar food will be available as well as the usual well-stocked rugby club bar. Entrance costs £9.

Wilton House, Senior Citizens Club off Abbey End Car Park, 7.30pm: The Kenilworth Horticultural Society guest speaker is a specialist grower, Helen Picton, on the topic of Asters (Michaelmas Daisies). Helen runs Old Court Nurseries at Malvern and the Picton Gardens which displays a National Collection of Michaelmas Daisies. She will be bringing plants to sell.
