Set against the magnificent backdrop of the Sydney Opera House, Puccini’s Turandot is being screened on Thursday September 15 at 7pm. It recounts the Chinese fable of the beautiful and powerful Princess Turandot, who challenges her many suitors to answer three riddles on pain of death. No one has ever succeeded – until a young brave Prince named Calaf declares his love for the princess and answers correctly.

The event features lavish sets, flamboyant costumes and a spectacular firework display from Sydney’s harbour. Perhaps its best-known aria is Nessun Dorma, which is sure to stir the emotions. Tickets cost £18 or £15 for concessions.
