Classic Christie thriller on stage

And Then There Were None was adapted from the novel by the Queen of Crime herself and first performed in London’s West End in 1944.

Set in 1938, And Then There Were None follows ten strangers of various social standings who are invited to a mansion on a remote island off the coast of Devon.

Upon arrival the guests discover that their host is missing. A torrential storm hits the island and the strangers become cut off from civilisation.

One by one the group - each battling the weight of their conscience - begin to die in accordance to the rules of the nursery rhyme Ten Little Soldier Boys.

The haunting rhyme pervades every room of the house and ends with the ominous words “…and then there were none.”

Director William Wilkinson said: “I am delighted to present this tease of a play for our Loft audiences.

“We will do our best to deliver all the riches of Christie’s creation as well as having you guessing the identity of the killer for the two hours traffic of our stage.

“We do tell you the answer at the end but en route you will find a maddening puzzle to keep you highly tuned to every move and flick of the eye of our actors.

“And to add to your enjoyment, there are a few cold chills down the spine that will have your nerve ends tingling.”

And Then There Were None runs at the Loft Theatre from Wednesday May 25 to Saturday June 4 with a performance each evening at 7.30pm except Sunday.

In addition, the box office will be open from 7pm to 8.30pm on Monday 23 May and Tuesday May 24, and on each performance evening.

Under 25s and NUS card holders can purchase tickets for £5 for the performances on Monday May 30 and  Tuesday May 31 subject to availability. These tickets can be booked online or from the box office.

A discount of ten per cent for parties of more than ten is also available on full price tickets, excluding the performances on Saturday May 28 and Saturday June 4.
