The stories of women who travelled to England from the Caribbean during the 1950s and 60s and ended up in Leamington have been vividly told on three quilts crafted by members of the Leamington-based African Caribbean Project, who have handed over the quilts to the town’s art gallery at the Pump Room for its permanent collection.

They were accepted on behalf of Warwick District Council, which runs the gallery, by Cllr Susan Gallagher, along with the gallery’s senior curator Victoria Slade.
