And, while delighted with his side’s impressive start to the season, manager Barry Shearsby sounded a note of caution.

“In the end it was a comfortable win and we kept our 100 per cent start going,” said Shearsby.

“We will have tougher games ahead but as a unit I believe we are ready.”

Whitnash started well and dominated the opening 20 minutes, with only poor finishing and good goalkeeping preventing them opening up a healthy lead.

As it was, the only goal of the first half was gifted to the hosts by the Daimler defence, with the loose ball falling to Ross Briscoe who slotted past the keeper in the 13th minute.

Jaguar came more into the game, but Neil Stacey in the Whitnash goal did not have a save to make and he was similarly underworked after the break as Town made their dominance tell with five more goals.

Sharp interplay in the box was finished off by Luke Cole to double Whitnash’s lead before Cole added his second, heading home a Paul Wilkinson cross.

Henry Jordan made it 4-0, skipping past a defender and shooting into the bottom corner following an incisive pass from Jack Taylor.

Taylor was also the providder for the fifth, crossing for Ross Briscoe to slot into an empty net, before completing the scoring himself after a fine run from Andy McKinley.

Whitnash’s Reserves went down 3-1 at Fillongley in their opening Division Two game of the season with Ryan Harris netting their consolation.

On Tuesday night, Whitnash progressed to the last four of the Stan Oulds Cup with a 5-2 win over last season’s league champions AEI Rugby.

After going a goal down, Town recovered to progress thanks to a Luke Cole double and further strikes from Wilkinson, Taylor and a Craig Watkin penalty.
