The experienced defender, who numbers Atherstone, Bedworth, Sutton Coldfield Town and Gresley Rovers among his former clubs, joined Brakes in 2010 from Halesowen and went on to make 112 appearances for the club, scoring five goals.

He was a key figure as the club won the Southern League Premier title in 2012/13 but left in the summer of 2013 to join Barwell.

However, Holleran has remained an admirer of the no-nonsense defender and could not hide his delight at linking up once again with the centre-back.

“I was in the market for another defender and Jamie made it perfectly clear he wanted to come back to Leamington,” said Holleran.

“It’s going back to a time when the defence was strong with Jamie, Liam Daly and Tony Breeden.

“We didn’t have any of that last season and it showed, especially in the second half.

“We missed someone with his leadership and warrior-like qualities.

“He’s a competitive, strong centre-half and brings a lot to the table.

“One or two players in the squad will definitely benefit from having him on board.”
