Racing Club Warwick manager Ryan Cranton has added two new faces to his squad ahead of a vitally important three-month period for the club.
Striker Matt Florida has joined from Alveston, while midfielder Dan Humphriss has made the move from Stratford Town.

Both are looking forward to the challenge of helping their new club avoid the drop.

Florida, 22, comes with an impressive scor
ing record at Sunday League level and is confident he can emulate it in the Midland Combination.

"I finished the 2008-09 season at Harbury Albion with 42 goals, a league title and a George Dutton Cup winners' medal and that has helped my confidence," said Florida.

"One thing I try to do with every team I have been involved with is bring a goal threat. I like to think I'm a good attribute to a team with ideas of playing confident, attacking football."

The addition of midfielder Humphriss brings added pace to the side, with the 22-year-old expected to provide the ammunition for Florida.

"Hopefully, my crossing ability and pace can be used to help the team progress and score goals," said Humphriss.

"I am certain we will stay up through a lot of hard work and commitment. Hopefully I can settle in as soon as possible and help towards that."

Meanwhile, it proved a case of seventh-time unlucky for Racing on Wednesday night when they finally got to play their Birmingham Midweek Floodlit Challenge Cup game at Boldmere St Michaels.

Racing went down to a 2-1 defeat in the tie, which had been postponed six times, with Cranton admitting that the scoreline flattered his side.

"We made a number of changes from the team that beat Southam on Boxing Day and we looked lethargic," said Cranton.

"We just didn't get into the game, They got the ball down and passed it about, but we allowed them to do that. We stood off them and they caused us problems.

"Paul Hawkins made four or five outstandings saves and if it wasn't for him the scoreline would have been very different.

"One positive is that it was only a cup game. Our priority has to be the league and it was important to have a game before we play Massey."

Florida scored Racing Club's consolation on his debut following a goalmouth scramble after the break.

Racing Club can escape the relegation zone should they beat Massey Ferguson tomorrow, but it promises to be a tough ask with the visitors lying seventh in the table.

However, Cranton is hoping to be able to call upon Phil Daly and Steve Brandl who both missed the midweek cup defeat, while Gregg Wragg, who is recovering from a hand operation, is also thought to be close to a return.
