Leamington cycling star Dave Stringfellow has added another win to his collection.
He added the 30-mile time trial championship to his impressive collection of 2008 prizes in the Leamington C&AC evening time trial series.

Stringfellow completed the longest distance in the club's calender in a time of 1hr 12min 35sec.

Nearest rival John Herring was a 52sec behind at the finish, although at the half-way mark he was only 17sec down and showed signs of challenging for the title. Richard Gregory took third spot, some distance behind in 1.19.40.

Nadine Mayhew took the ladies title unchallenged in a time of 1-25-59, with many other riders opting to complete only one lap of the course and a distance of 15 miles.

The previous weekend club riders were involved in the Leamington C&AC open ten-mile time trial.

Stringfellow, leading the Spa challenge, could only manage second place on the podium completing the course in 22.17.

Neill of Coventry won in 21.55. The event suffered from a strong headwind on the longer outgoing leg, but then riders benefited on the return trip.

Third place went to John Simkins (Banbury Star) in 22.22, with the first lady home being the Leamington's leading lady Nadine Mayhew in 25.45.

Banbury also picked up the team prize with a three-rider combined time of 1hr 11m 58sec. Richard Bradley and Clive Pinfold of Shorter Rochford RT and Coventry RC won the supporting tandem event in 21.20 while the youngest competitor, Wyre Forest 12-year-old James Plant, completed the course in 35.03.
