Phil hits 66 break but Harbury stay on top

Harbury 1st continue to lead the Warwickshire Beer Co Leamington & District Premier Division after a 5-2 win at Kenilworth S&S F/C.
Phil Parkin compiled an excellent 66 break for Kenilworth, while Terry Robinson and Paul Coney each recorded 31 breaks for Harbury.

Cubbington 1st remain unbeaten after they triumphed 5-2 at Lillington 4th. Nelson 1st were 6-1 home winners over H
ome Guard 1st, with James Gillard compiling a 38 break for Nelson.

Priors 1st won 5-2 at Harbury 2nd and Bishops Tachbrook ran out 6-1 winners in their home match against Lillington 3rd, who only had six players. In the week's remaining match, Warwick Conservative 1st won for the first time, defeating Nelson 2nd 5-2.

Frames 1st remain top of the A Division after a 5-2 away success over previously unbeaten Cubbington 2nd. Frames 3rd are also still unbeaten after they run out easy 6-1 winners against Kenilworth Firemen.

Rivals Frames 4th also won 6-1 in their match at Home Guard 2nd. Priors 2nd won 4-3 at home against Lillington Bowls and Warwick Conservative 2nd had a very good 5-2 win at Priors 3rd.

Elsewhere, Kenilworth Conservative 2nd won 5-2 at home against Oakhouse. Frames 2nd won 5-2 against 5-man Bishops Tachbrook.

The weeks' remaining match saw Leamington Liberals win for the first time this season, a 5-2 home success against Nelson 3rd.

In a re-arranged match, Frames 3rd ran out 6-1 winners against Kenilworth Conservative 2nd, with Adam Prewitt compiling a break of 52, the A Division’s highest this season.

Every week for the 2008-09 season the highest break winner, where an outright winner occurs, in each division will receive a presentation box of beer courtesy the league sponsors. Phil Parkin’s 66 for Kenilworth S&S F/C was last week’s Premier Division winner. There were no 30-plus breaks in the A Division last week.

n Lillington Bowls got the defence of their Billiards League title off to a good start with a 3-1 win against Leamington Liberal. Geoff Barrett starring for the bowlers with breaks of 120, 50 and 48. In the week’s other match Lillington won 3-1 against Nelson B, with Alan Orton compiling a 48 break for Nelson.

Nelson A did not play last week.
