Nelson 1st (handicap 11) have won the Stan Ward Cup, beating league champions Kenilworth Conservative.
The Warwick side, handicapped at 11, led the final 4-3 going into last week's second leg at Kenilworth Conservative 1st (0), but the Warwickshire Beer Co Premier Division champions won the first two frames of the second leg to go 5-4 in front, including a 71 break from Matt Brown.

They shared the next two, but Nelson came back to win the final three frames of the final to triumph 8-6 on aggregate, and win their first Stan Ward Cup since 2003.

Harbury 2nd (26) ended the season on a high after defeating Bishops Tachbrook (22) 8-7 to win the Courier Cup for the first time.

Leading 4-3 after the first leg, things did not look good for side relegated from the Premier Division this season when Tachbrook won the first four frames of the second leg to lead 7-4 on aggregate.

But Harbury came back at Tachbrook to win the remaining three frames and send the final into a deciding play-off. The momentum remained with Harbury and they took the deciding frame to win 8-7 on aggregate.

Finals Week kicked off on Monday evening at Cubbington Club with defending champion Hardip Baines (Lillington) taking on Ted Mullis (Home Guard) in the Pete Hiley Cup (over-50s).

In the best-of-three match Mullis took frame one after clearing the last three colours to win by five points despite Baines compiling a 22 break.

Frame two started well for Baines when he made a 25 break at his third visit. Consistent scoring won the frame, Mullis conceding at 66-39. A close decider was eventually won by 46-38 by Baines, who retains his title.

Dave Metcalfe was the referee, with Iain Metcalfe marking and Dave Row recording the score.

Sam Blundell (Harbury) and Neal Stribbling (Nelson) competed for the Eric Briggs Cup. The opening frame was a tentative affair which Blundell won when Neal conceded at 54-37.

Although Stribbling had a 23 break, the Harbury man also took frame two at 64-50. By now Stribbling's frustration was beginning to show and Blundell's more consistent scoring, plus a 27 break, helped him to a 73-42 frame win to regain the trophy he last won in 2001.

Refereeing was George Cotterill, with Iain Metcalfe marking and Dave Row recording the score.

League sponsors the Warwickshire Beer Company are offering a three-course meal for two at their Market Tavern pub in Southam to the player who compiles the highest break during finals week.
