Darts double for the Joiners

Heathcote DT and Joiners Arms A have both had a season to remember in the North Leamington Darts League.
The Whitnash side won the Gents' Division One title and the Old Town outfit completed a cup double, retaining the Good Companions Cup - beating Heathcote in the final - and adding the Knockout Cup. They also finished third in Gents' Division One.

Andy Barnwell won the gents' pairs with Holly Bush B partner Ian Vince to add to his singles title, making him the first league secretary to do the double. Barnwell and Vince saw off Heathcote's A Heydon and Rob Wilkes in the final. Barnwell also topped the gents' 180 table, hitting eight maximums.

The mixed pairs title went to J Atkins (Joiners Arms A) and M Turner (Lillington Club). The runners-up were T Sutton (Queen's Head) and A Jones (Lillington Club).

Maria Collins won the inaugural ladies' champion of champions title, seeing off L Dyer to add to the title she won at the Leamington Weeekend of Darts.

Liberal Club lifted the Ladies' Good Companions Cup, seeing off Liberal Club in the final.

Queen's Head are Gents' Division two champions, two points clear of Home Guard, while Lillington Club B took Division Three by the same margin from Liberal Club B.

Dun Cow are Ladies' Division One champions, two points ahead of second-placed Lillington Club. Kingsway Club took the Division Two honours, four points ahead of Joiners Arms B.

Gents' highest checkouts: Division One Rob Symons (Holly Bush B) 161; Division Two Graham Bradford (Joiners Arms B) 167; Division Three Richard Babbington (Liberal Club B) 139. Most 180s: Andy Barnwell (Holly Bush B) 8.

Averages: Division One Andy Hodges (Heathcote DT); Division Two Trevor Sutton; Division Three D Baker (Heathcote Inn).
Ladies' averages: Division One Angela Jones (Lillington Club); Division Two L Dyer (Kingsway Club). Highest checkouts: Division One Barbara Ford (Liberal Club) 152; Division Two C Davies (Joiners Arms A) 118.

180s (all one each): L Kenny (Pig & Fiddle), D Hutchin (Pig & Fiddle), J Robbons (Joiners Arms B), S Cleary (Woodland Tavern).

Trophies will be handed out during the league's annual presentation night at St Patrick's Club on Friday May 9 (7.30pm).

The league's annual meeting is at Sydenham Club on August 19 (7.30pm).
