Can Kruze star on home course?
Rising star Ben Kruze will carry the locals' hopes at his home course
The 24-year-old Leek Wootton man will be in action at The Warwickshire course on the Jamega Pro Golf Tour on Monday and Tuesday.
Kruze, in his first year in the professional ranks, is no stranger to media coverage, having reached the quarter-finals of the Men's English Amateur Championship when only 16 - just missing out on a chance to play Ryder Cup hero Paul Casey in the semi-final.
He will face stiff competition from the likes of European Tour winner Mark Mouland and Wiltshire's Steve Surry, who after two successive top-ten finishes arrives at The Warwickshire as the Jamega Tour's form horse.
The 36-hole stroke-play event is the third counting event towards the 2008 Jamega Pro Golf Tour Order of Merit, the winner of which will have his entry fee to the European Tour School provided by ISM, the golf management company behind Ernie Els and Lee Westwood.
Tony Jones, tour director said: "After two very competitive events to start the season, I'm sure we can expect a high quality tournament at the King's Course.
"We are delighted to be at the superb Karl Litten-designed track, where I'm sure the high quality performances will continue."
Entry to the course, which is located just off the A46 by Leek Wootton, is free for all spectators.
Leamington & County juniors had mixed fortunes in the first three matches of their South Warwickshire League campaign.
The team won 4-2 at home to Rugby on Sunday, with individual success for Joe Owen 2 and 1, Jamie Goode 4 and 3, George Wale 4 and 3 and an emphatic 9 and 8 for Alex Allen. James Mattaru won the reserve game 3 and 1.
Previously the team suffered a disappointing 5-1 defeat at Stratford. With several lower-handicap players unavailable it was always going to be a difficult fixture.
George Wale and James Mattaru each earned half a point in their halved games. There was some consolation when Ryan Billington won the reserve match.
The season had started well with an excellent away win at Coventry by 4.5 to 1.5. Junior captain Joe Owen led by example to win 7 and 5, Jamie Hancox and Josh Bowen both won 3 and 2 victory, George Wale won 3 and 1 and Alex Allen gain a half. James Mattaru won the reserve match.
