Colourful and imaginative costumes were paraded by children and adults through the streets of Harbury at the village's carnival.

The procession was accompanied by music by the Shirley Pipe Band, and followed by an afternoon of festivities, including fancy dress competitions, a puppet show, a dog show, a raffle and stalls selling homemade cakes and other refreshments.

Procession winners included the Darlison family for their St Trinian's themed float and pupils at Harbury Pre-School for their float reflecting 'traditional tales'.

Awards were also presented to the Rollason family for their walking tableau entitled Gordon Brown's Political Tuck Shop and to John and Linda Ridgley for their piece themed on George and the Dragon.

The carnival was the culmination of celebrations spanning a week, including a 'wheelbarrow beer race' and pub games.
