Students at a Warwick school are taking to the stage as some of Dickens' most vivid and nefarious characters.
Myton School’s production of David Copperfield began yesterday (Thursday) with performances tonight and tomorrow at 7pm.

The story, which many believe is the Victorian novelist’s most autobiographical, runs from David’s early life with his bullying step-father Mr Murdstone through his difficult experiences at school and in a warehouse in London leading to his running away to Dover.

It features characters including Aunt Betsey Trotwood, the ever-optimistic Mr Micawber, the evil Uriah Heep, sinister schoolmaster Mr Creakle and the unfortunate little Emily.

The production includes performances from more than 30 14 to 16-year-olds as well as around 20 helping with stage management, lighting, sound and set design.
