Warwick model Bianca Embley hopes spelling it out is one way to get the message across about what it means to suffer from fibromyalgia.
The 31-year-old organised an eye-catching demonstration outside Parliament on November 15 to draw MPs' attention to the disease. She arranged for Leamington sprint hurdler Sara McGreavy, page three girl Danni Wells and nine other models to wear yellow polka dot miniskirts and T-shirts printed with letters making up the name.
The model set up the PolkaDotGals campaign to raise awareness of the condition, and will be producing a naked calendar featuring the page three girl, hurdler and members of the Coventry City football team.
Around two million people are known to suffer from fibromyalgia, which causes muscle pain, chronic fatigue and can affect the nervous system.
Miss Embley, who has been a sufferer since an accident at work ten years ago, said: "The pain is literally unbearable. It is like having acid running through your veins.
"The fatigue can come and go at any time. It is like someone pulls the plug. Yesterday I was crawling up the stairs on my hands and knees.
"The impact it has made on my life every day has been terrible. It has stopped me from doing many of the things I wanted to do both in my career and socially."
The model is determined to increase the publicity about the little-known condition. After the photoshoot, Miss Embley spoke to members of an all-party parliamentary group that is looking at ways to help those with the condition, and explained that many more people could suffer from the condition to some degree.
She added: "Up to 2 million people in the UK suffer from fibromyalgia, but there could be up to 10 more million cases as less than 20 per cent of sufferers are officially diagnosed.
"One of the most common causes can be from whiplash and a growing number of people are literally suffering in silence, which is why support is desperately needed."
