The youngsters have been campaigning over the past few months to sponsors for their fundraising skydive for the charity Safeline.

The Take the Leap team managed to reach and go beyond their target with the help of some generous donations from individuals and organisations.

Kenilworth School held a non-uniform day and raised an amazing £904. Queens Arms, a gastro-pub in Lutterworth, raised £110 through a collection box and a karaoke night hosted at The Fusilier, Leamington took a further £132.

The young people’s department at Safeline helped the Take the Leap team set up a CrowdFunder web page which raised a further £655.

And the youth parliament team - Ajay Bawa, Cora-Laine Moynihan, Curtis Kay, Sam Round, Alex Fryer, Izzy Leon, Angela Leon, Stacey Taylor, Jade Taylor, Chloe Downs, Jack Hobbs and Sukhraj Sidhu - also set up a JustGiving page and, in August, took part in a 22-mile hike from Warwick to Rough Close campsite in Coventry and back again.

The skydive will take place at Hinton Airfield in Brackley on April 1 from 12.30pm.
