Warwick councillors reject parking loss

Plans for ten flats and three houses on part of Warwick’s West Rock car park have been unanimously recommended for refusal by town councillors

County and town councillor John Holland said the properties should be elevated above the car park as was originally agreed in a town forum.

He said town councillors accepted the need for more affordable homes and welcomed the proposal by Waterloo Housing to build them.

But the loss of valuable parking spaces for shoppers and visitors to the town centre was unnecessary as the flats could be built on stilts, or even above a new multi-storey car park.
