Two men arrested after firearms incident in Lapworth

Two men have been arrested after reports that a man was threatened with an air rifle in Lapworth this morning (Monday March 21).

Police were called to the Grand Union Canal off Old Warwick Road after reports of two men with a gun verbally threatening another man.

Armed police, a dog unit and a police helicopter were all deployed as officers found the two suspects had fled the scene.

The two suspects, aged 19 and 37, were found nearby and two arrests were made later that morning.

An air rifle, a rucksack containing an axe and a knife, were all recovered from the scene at around 12.40am.

The suspects are in custody.

The police have said the victim was not hurt in the incident.
