Old Town’s Shree Krishna Hindu Temple will be open from 6am to 8pm on Thursday for the celebration of Diwali.

Some 500 devotees are expected to visit the temple in High Street to light candles, or dewas, and receive a blessing.

Traditional sweets will be for sale for people to buy for their friends and relatives. Whitnash Community Centre will also be holding a Diwali cultural celebration featuring dance, drama and speeches on Saturday November 1 from 5pm to 8pm.
