Slideshow: ‘Biggest ever’ Dassett Country Show

Waiting for Video...

Organisers of this year’s Dassett Country Show think it was their biggest yet, having raised more charity funds through its car park donations than ever before in the show’s 28-year history.

The tea and cake tent alone raised £800 - and Natalie Heath, chairman of the show committee, puts it down to the entertainment provided at the tent by the Spa Strummers. She said: “We also had a fabulous vintage shire horse-drawn wagon and cart, which took children for rides, and our fun dog show had more entries than ever before.”

Half the profits will go to BLESMA, Dogs for the Disabled and Macmillan; the other half will go towards Avon Dassett, Fenny Compton, Farnborough and Northend organisations.
