Householders in Warwick district may be able to lower their energy bills by entering into a scheme that the district council is hoping to set up.
Cllr Norman Vincett, responsible for policy on housing, is in discussions with energy firm iChoosr Ltd to look into setting up an ‘energy collective’ for council house tenants who are struggling to pay their bills. At the moment, tenants choose their own energy suppliers and may not always be opting for the cheapest deal.
Cllr Vincett said: “If this is successful, I will be looking to open it out to other residents in the district.
“It’s looking reasonably viable at this point in time.”
Further details are expected to become available over the next month.
