Roadworks to disrupt Kenilworth's drivers

Major roadworks coming to Kenilworth are likely to disrupt drivers in the coming weeks.

A stretch of Windy Arbour between Birches Lane and Thornby Avenue is being controlled by two-way traffic lights until Friday March 24 as part of work by National Grid to replace the gas pipes under the road.

A spokesman for National Grid said: “We are carrying out essential gas maintenance in the road to replace old iron gas mains with more durable plastic pipes.

“This is to ensure we continue to provide safe and reliable gas supplies to local businesses and residents.”

And a stretch of Warwick Road just south of St Francis of Assisi Church will be controlled by two-way traffic lights from Saturday February 11 to Sunday February 12, and then from Saturday February 18 to Sunday February 19.

This is part of work by Severn Trent Water to install new water pipes.

Finally, the northbound A46 entry slip road at the Kenilworth junction with the A452 will be closed overnight on Friday February 10 from 9.30pm to 6am the following day to replace a sign.
