Policed appeal after driver head butted and attempt made to steal his keys

The incident took place in Five Ways Road on Thursday January 26 at about 2pm.

A man was driving a hired work van along the road when he noticed a truck attempting to pass him.

He pulled over to allow for the truck to pass.

The truck overtook but then came to a stop in front of his van.

The van driver and a passenger of the truck exited their respective vehicles.

Upon exiting his cab the van driver was approached by the passenger of the truck and was head butted before his vehicles keys were demanded for.

After a brief altercation the trucks passenger returned to his vehicle at the urging of its driver before leaving the scene.

The van driver received injuries to his face and hand but managed to prevent the robbery.

Warwickshire Police are appealing for any witnesses to the attempted robbery or for any information on a green flat-bed truck that is believed to have been carrying scrap metal in the area around the time of the incident.
