PCSOs have stepped in to potentially help save the life of a man who had collapsed while suffering a cardiac arrest at the bus stop near the Parish church in Leamington.

Support officer Jamie Cortez administered CPR to the man while his colleague and Hannah Saville, who was only on her second day of working for Warwickshire Police, calmed his friend and called West Midlands Ambulance Service.

Initial efforts to restart the man’s heart were unsuccesful but once at hospital in resuscitation a heart rhythm was established.

The man is currently in intensive care at Warwick Hospital.
