Number of people in Warwick district claiming job seekers allowance has fallen by almost half in 12 months
In January there were 600 less people claiming the allowance compared to 1,230 12 months a go - a fall of 49 per cent.
There are also 150 fewer young people claiming job seeker’s allowance.

Hide AdLynda Ward, the Warwickshire business development manager for Jobcentre Plus, said: “It’s great news that there are fewer people out of work and looking for a job.
“The local labour market is buoyant with a good range of vacancies in customer service, retail, hospitality, driving and care.
“And the department for Work and Pensions is offering a range of support to help people get off benefits and into jobs.
“These include work experience, employer-led training, work placements and help for budding entrepreneurs through the New Enterprise Allowance.”

Hide AdThe Jobcentre will be supporting the Leamington Jobs and Careers Fair at Leamington Town Hall on Thursday March 5 between 10am and 3pm.
Employers attending include Q Hotels and Premier Inn.
A new Sainsbury’s store is opening in Wellesbourne in May.
The company will be holding a recruitment day at the Jobcentre in Leamington which is expected to take place at the end of this month.
