Warwickshire Police are appealing for witnesses after a robbery at the Eagle Recreation Ground in Leamington on Monday.

The incident happened at about 6.30pm near the AGA Rangemaster factory.

Four men approached another man from behind and physically assaulted him with a glass bottle.

They then stole the victim’s mobile phone and made off in a black Vauxhall Astra in the direction of Clarence Street and High Street.

The victim, a 31-year-old man, sustained minor facial and head injuries requiring hospital treatment.

Three of the men were white and the other was black.

They are believed to be in their 20s and were wearing smart casual clothing.

Police are eager to hear from anyone who saw the vehicle or the men in the area at the time. Anyone with information should call police on 101, quoting incident 270 of Monday 20 April.
