Man threatened with knife during attempted robbery near Leamington golf course

A man was threatened with a knife during an attempted robbery near a Leamington golf course this week.

The incident occurred on Monday February 20 at approximately 3pm to 3.20pm in a wooded area off Radford Road, to the rear of Newbold Comyn Golf Course.

The victim, a man in his 50s, was walking his dog when he was approached by two men.

He was threatened with a knife and one of the men demanded his wallet.

When the victim refused, he received a blow to the face resulting in a cut to his mouth and the suspects made off.

The first suspect is described as a man of Asian appearance, approximately 20 to 25 years old, clean shaven, approximately 5’8” tall, of medium build and wearing a black hooded top pulled around his face.

The other man is described as white, approximately 5’10” tall, aged in his early 20s, with cropped fair hair, wearing a dark sweater with a crew neck and black tracksuit bottoms with a red oblong around the knee area.

Anyone who saw men matching these descriptions or who has any other information should call Warwickshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 265 of February 20.
