Wrong-handed throwing and wheelchair racing - all in aid of Anna

HALF of Anna Turney’s costs towards a month’s training with the British Disabled Ski Team have now been met - thanks to a set of whacky races held outside the Rose and Crown pub in Warwick.
Both the disabled and able-bodied agreed to race in wheelchairs, test their left-handed throwing skills and complete blind obstacle courses as part of the Wheelie Good Games organised in aid of Anna’s bid to compete in the Winter Paralympics in Sochi, Russia, in 2014.
She said: “Six teams took part on Monday including one run by Paralympic equestrian medalist Liz Stone, whose mother still lives in Warwick, and agreed to lead a wheelchair relay slalom.
“We also had a static jump, a handbike hill challenge, wrong-handed throw and visually-impaired obstacle course. The end result was a fantastic £545 which will pay off half the cost of my August training camp in Austria with the British team.”
