Witness appeal after attempted robbery

POLICE are appealing for witnesses to come forward following an attempted robbery which took place on Tachbrook Road, Leamington on the evening of Tuesday August 28.

A man was walking along Tachbrook Road near The Wheatsheaf pub and the Wolseley UK offices when he was approached by a man who demanded money from him.

The offender was holding a knife and was wearing a dark coloured balaclava.

The victim ran off towards a group of people and his assailant ran across the road towards a dark coloured Chrysler, which was parked behind some trees.

The victim was not hurt, but was badly shaken by the experience.

Officers are appealing for anyone who was in Tachbrook Road near The Wheatsheaf public house between 10pm and 11.30pm on Tuesday August 28 who saw anything suspicious in the area.
