Where the Avon and Leam meet

THIS was how the old Potterton’s football pitches looked on Monday when floodwater covered the ground.

In the top picture you can see the distant Portabello bridge at the point where the rivers Leam and Avon meet in Warwick. The lower view was taken looking back from the bridge itself.

In December an elderly couple staying in temporary accommodation at the former greyhound flapping track nearby had to be rescued along with 50 dogs when floodwaters rose. Trainer Craig Andrews closed his business and moved the dogs to Redditch.
