Tourist office has enforced holiday break

WARWICK Tourist Information office in Jury Street will be closed for a week from Monday (Feb 18) to allow new lighting and power circuits to be installed.

Major renovation work to the historic offices, based at the Court House, have now reached a critical stage and town clerk Derek Maudlin says no alternative accommodation is available. Staff have agreed to cover part of the clsoure by taking some annual leave.

The front of the building is also to have a hot water high pressure clean and windows removed for repair. But the discovery that the eighteenth century structure needs underpinning means the work is now unlikely to be completed until the end of June.
