Third road closure in Princes Drive from Friday

WORKS to improve the junction at Leamington’s old Ford Foundry site will require a further road closure during half term week.

Princes Drive will be closed to traffic from 9pm on Friday 15 February to 6am on Monday 25 February.

The weekend closure - the third in the road in recent weeks - is to allow contractor Birse Civils to carry out work on the road network ahead of the opening of the new Morrison’s store at the former Ford foundry site.

Advance notices have been put up on site and diversions will be sign-posted. Cllr Peter Butlin, the Warwickshire county councillor responsible for policy on highways and transport, said: “We apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused during the road closures and thank everyone for their patience while the work is carried out.

“Half term week is traditionally a quieter period on the road network and the closure has been scheduled for this time so that it causes the least amount of disruption.”

The 24-hour helpline number for residents and motorists to contact is 0800 032 9760.
